2015 Charter Champions Awards

The third annual Charter Champion Awards were created to acknowledge the many individuals, businesses, and organizations working hard to create a strong and vibrant food system in Simcoe County and support the vision and principles outlined in the Simcoe County Food and Agriculture Charter.

  • Community Appreciation Award for Work Improving Equal Access, Courtney O Community Appreciation Award for Work Improving Equal Access, Courtney O
    Courtney O'Neill was presented with the Community Appreciation Award for Work Improving Equal Access for both her career and volunteer work in nutrition, health, and food-skilsl development.
  • Best School Program, Banting Memorial High School- Agri-Business Specialist High Skills Major Best School Program, Banting Memorial High School- Agri-Business Specialist High Skills Major
    Joel Konrad, a former graduate of the program, accepted the award for Best School Program on behalf of Banting Memorial High School.
  • Best Agricultural Club or Association, Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture Best Agricultural Club or Association, Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture
    President, Jim Partridge accepted the award for Best Agricultural Club or Association on behalf of the Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture.
  • Best Event Celebrating Local Food and Agriculture, 2014 International Plowing Match Best Event Celebrating Local Food and Agriculture, 2014 International Plowing Match
    2014 IPM Chairman, Cal Madill accepted the award for Best Event Celebrating Local Food and Agriculture on behalf of all involved in the 2014 International Plowing Match.
  • Best Community Garden, Orillia Community Gardens Best Community Garden, Orillia Community Gardens
    Jacob Kearey-Morland and Andy Robbins accepted the award for Best Community Garden on behalf of the Orillia Community Gardens
